Andrew Wiggins has agreed to a three-year contract with the Miami Heat, according to ESPN's free agency grades, marking one of the most notable moves of the 2026 NBA offseason. The deal solidifies Miami's wing rotation as the Heat look to contend in the Eastern Conference next season.

Wiggins averaged 17.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season while shooting 38.5% from three-point range. His defensive versatility and ability to guard multiple positions made him a priority target for Miami's front office, which has emphasized perimeter depth this summer.

The signing bolsters a Heat roster that finished fifth in the East last season, falling in the first round of the playoffs. Maintaining a core built around Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Wiggins could push Miami back into the conference's upper tier, though questions remain about their bench consistency.

Miami now turns its attention to upcoming free agent decisions and potential trade targets. The Heat hold limited cap flexibility after the Wiggins signing, which may force small-scale additions via the veteran minimum or buyout market.

"Adding a player of Andrew's caliber gives us another two-way weapon," Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement. "We believe his skillset fits seamlessly into our system."
