Grid.online, a Czech startup building shared infrastructure for first- and last-mile parcel delivery, has raised €4 million as it rapidly scales operations across Europe. The company now operates with almost 2,000 active couriers and has surpassed 1 million deliveries through its network.
The round is led by DFF Ventures and co-led by Movens Capital, with additional participation from early-stage angel investors. Grid.online reported that parcel volumes surged more than tenfold during its first year of operation, though the company did not disclose its valuation.
The logistics sector is increasingly fragmented, with carriers seeking efficient, asset-light ways to handle rising e-commerce demand. Grid.online offers a shared platform that allows multiple couriers to pool infrastructure, reducing costs and delivery times. Its rapid volume growth signals strong market traction, especially in Central and Eastern Europe.
This funding signals growing investor appetite for logistics-as-a-service models that can scale without heavy capital expenditure. As e-commerce continues to expand, shared networks like Grid.online could reshape last-mile delivery economics, though they face competition from established players such as DHL and local incumbents.
Counter_argument: Shared infrastructure models can face challenges with service consistency and courier retention, as margins in last-mile delivery remain thin and competition for gig workers is intense.
