Krea, a startup specializing in AI creative tools, has released its new frontier image generation model, Krea 2, in two variants: Krea 2 Raw and Krea 2 Turbo. The company aims to tackle the growing concern that AI-generated visuals often look indistinguishable and unoriginal—dismissed as "AI slop"—by offering models that provide more visual variety while maintaining high prompt accuracy and fidelity.
The models are available as open weights under a custom license, downloadable from Hugging Face. Enterprises with more than 50 seats must pay for usage, and all users, regardless of size, must implement technical safeguards to prevent the generation of illegal materials, non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or defamatory assets.
