Savannah James and her longtime business partner April McDaniel are launching Signed, a holding company designed to aggregate and scale a portfolio of women-focused businesses and media properties. The venture consolidates three existing entities under one umbrella: the creative agency Crown+Conquer, the membership community Let It Break, and the podcast Everybody's Crazy.
The new company is launching in partnership with MarcyPen Capital Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm cofounded by Jay-Z. Signed's goal is to use its three founding brands as a nucleus for developing additional ventures, though no specific financial details of the partnership were disclosed.
McDaniel founded Crown+Conquer in 2016, while Let It Break and Everybody's Crazy both launched in 2024. The founders have hired Christopher Gray—formerly of Nike and Wieden+Kennedy London—as chief creative officer to lead brand development across the portfolio.
McDaniel noted that the idea for Signed emerged from recognizing the shared purpose of the three brands: celebrating and growing female-owned businesses. "Once we really homed in on the purpose, it made us realize that we were sitting on something way bigger than we even imagined," she said.
The launch reflects a broader trend of celebrities and high-net-worth individuals structuring multi-brand platforms to centralize operations and attract institutional capital. However, Signed enters a crowded market of influencer-backed holding companies, where differentiation and consistent execution remain significant challenges.
