NexMetals has upgraded the mineral resource estimate for its Selkirk copper project, reporting total contained copper equivalent of 1.1 billion pounds. That marks a 63% jump over the previous estimate from 2024, according to the firm.

The upgraded resource is based on additional drilling and revised geological modeling. The company did not disclose updated tonnage or grade specifics beyond the contained metal figure. The project is located in British Columbia's Golden Triangle region, a known mining jurisdiction.

NexMetals has not yet provided a timeline for a preliminary economic assessment or feasibility study. The firm is currently focused on infill drilling and metallurgical testing to advance the deposit toward development.

No production or capex estimates were included in the announcement. The company noted the resource upgrade comes amid rising global copper demand driven by electrification and renewable energy infrastructure.

The estimate was prepared by an independent qualified person under NI 43-101 standards. NexMetals did not specify whether the resource includes measured, indicated, or inferred categories.
