Sophie Cunningham scored the final 11 points for Indiana, drilling three 3-pointers to seal an 85-75 road win over the Connecticut Sun on Saturday night. The Fever improved to 4-1 in Commissioner's Cup play, while the Sun fell to 3-2 in the in-season tournament.
Caitlin Clark led all scorers with 25 points and added five assists, including a critical fifth triple with 5:22 left that put Indiana up 72-65. The victory moved the Fever to 8-5 overall, with Cunningham's late surge breaking open what had been a tight contest at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Indiana now sits just a half-game behind East-leading New York in Cup play, keeping its path to the June 30 title game wide open. The top team in each conference earns a spot in the championship, and the Fever's current winning streak positions them as a serious contender.
Up next, Indiana returns home to face the Atlanta Dream on Thursday, while Connecticut travels to Chicago to take on the Sky on Wednesday. Both teams will look to build momentum ahead of the Cup finale.
"Sophie stepped up when we needed her most," Fever head coach Christie Sides said after the game. "Her confidence from deep was contagious."
