Google has announced major updates to Stitch, its AI-powered interface design tool, signaling an aggressive push into the competitive design software market. According to Rustin Banks, product manager at Google Labs, the company is evolving Stitch into an 'AI-native software design canvas' that allows anyone to create high-fidelity UI designs using natural language.

Launched in March during Google I/O, Stitch targets the front-end design market dominated by established players like Figma and Cursor. The latest updates include five major AI-powered features: a complete UI redesign with an infinite canvas similar to Figma's, AI design agents for reasoning and task management, enhanced design system toolkits, and voice capabilities.
