Swiss aerospace company Destinus and U.S.-based Shield AI have concluded a European test campaign focused on autonomous drone capabilities. The demonstration targeted counter-unmanned aerial system (cUAS) solutions designed to reduce military reliance on crewed aircraft operations.
The testing represents a strategic push to offer European air forces autonomous alternatives for air defense missions. By reducing dependence on piloted aircraft, these systems could potentially lower operational costs and reduce risk to personnel in contested airspace scenarios.
