Finnish satellite manufacturer ReOrbit has secured a contract with asset-financing company SLI for the delivery of two small geostationary orbit communications satellites. The deal represents a commercial transaction between the satellite manufacturer and the financing firm.
The satellites are designed for geostationary orbit operations, positioning them approximately 35,786 kilometers above Earth's equator where they maintain fixed positions relative to the planet's surface. This orbital configuration is particularly valuable for communications applications as it provides continuous coverage over specific geographic regions.
