A European cloud provider lobby group has filed an antitrust complaint with the European Commission against Broadcom, seeking to block the chip giant from terminating its VMware Cloud Service Provider program. The Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe (CISPE) is requesting interim measures to halt what it characterizes as ongoing anticompetitive behavior.
The complaint centers on Broadcom's decision to end the VMware Cloud Service Provider program, which CISPE argues constitutes an illegal restriction on customer choice in the cloud market. The lobbying group represents smaller cloud providers who rely on VMware's infrastructure services to compete with larger tech companies.
