ArXiv, one of the world's most influential scientific preprint servers, has declared independence from Cornell University to become a standalone nonprofit organization. The platform, which has hosted preliminary research papers for over three decades, made the transition to address operational challenges including explosive growth in submissions and the emergence of AI-generated content.
