Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told Axios she is keeping the door open to endorsing primary challengers against House Democratic colleagues "if someone crosses some huge line." The New York Democrat said it "would have to be kind of an egregious thing" but declined to rule out the practice entirely when asked during a Capitol interview Wednesday.
Ocasio-Cortez hasn't endorsed a primary challenge to a sitting member in years and had previously signaled to colleagues she might abandon the practice altogether during her unsuccessful run for House Oversight Committee ranking member. Her comments suggest a potential shift in approach as she continues building relationships with more establishment-oriented Democratic colleagues.
