Ali Farhadi, CEO of the Allen Institute for AI (AI2), has stepped down from his leadership role after two and a half years to focus on research pursuits. Peter Clark, a founding member of the Seattle-based nonprofit research institute, will serve as interim CEO while the organization searches for a permanent replacement.
The Allen Institute for AI, founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen in 2014, has been a prominent force in artificial intelligence research, focusing on machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. Under Farhadi's leadership, the institute expanded its research portfolio and maintained its position as a leading AI research organization during a period of explosive growth in the field.
