Iga Świątek has hired Francisco Roig as her new coach, the Polish tennis star confirmed on social media Thursday. Roig, who served as a longtime coach for Rafael Nadal and most recently worked with Emma Raducanu, replaces Wim Fissette in Świątek's coaching team.
The coaching change comes after Świątek parted ways with Fissette in late March following her unexpected loss to compatriot Magda Linette at the Miami Open. The split ended an 18-month partnership during which Świątek won Wimbledon and maintained her position as one of tennis's top players.
