Eternal, a health and longevity startup, is launching weekly AI-generated personal podcasts that update users on their latest health and fitness statistics, sleep performance, and more. The company emerged in early 2025 after a $13.25 million seed round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. It allows customers to connect wearables or upload lab data to get started.
The idea is to make sense of the flood of health data many people accumulate. Eternal's platform compiles and analyzes data over time, tracking changes and progress toward goals like weight loss or better sleep. The result is a short, weekly “audio experience” delivering personalized updates.
The startup was founded by Alex Mather, who previously co-founded the sports news publication the Athletic, which sold to the New York Times in 2022. Eternal is geared toward avid athletes and combines body scans, bloodwork, and other services into personalized reports.
While the concept offers a novel way to engage with health metrics, it remains unclear how broadly such personalized audio summaries will appeal beyond committed fitness enthusiasts. The service also depends on users consistently providing data from wearables or lab work.
One potential limitation: privacy concerns around sharing sensitive health data with a startup. Eternal has not detailed its data security protocols, and trust will be critical for adoption among users wary of health data monetization.
